After a long summer of anticipation, we finally got the news that the restrictions had been lifted enough for us to be able to transport the boat home to Wales. We hired a company to bring her down, and met them at Milford Haven, where she was due to spend a few months on the hard while we gave her some TLC and much needed upgrades. It was so wonderful to be able to just pop down after work to gets bits done, without the 5 hour journey each way.
The first job was a much needed sand of the hull, followed by a fresh coat of antifoul. We also polished above the water line, and took the opportunity to rename the boat to Aurora.
Whilst the mast was down, we added a radar and wind vane, and upgraded all of our instruments to brand new raymarine ones.
We also changed the anode, and sanded and varnished all the teak inside and outside.
After a fun summer of hard work, we were so pleased with how the boat was looking and we were ready to launch her into the Cleddau where she would spend the next few years!
